In the Land of Make-Believers

[ChristianityToday.com] February 5, 2005--Bobby Hill isn't so sure about his dad's idea for him to go to youth group. Sitting in the church parking lot—wearing his suit and holding a Bible—he worries about what the Christian students will be like. He's sure they'll all be "boring and uncool."

When I saw this episode of Fox's King of the Hill, I laughed about all the assumptions Bobby made about Christians—especially that he thought he had to wear a tie to youth group! But then I realized something. Bobby isn't the only one with a lot of ideas in his head about what Christians are like. Movies and TV shows also make assumptions—some true, some not—about Christians.
