Canada's Liberal Tradition Requires Protection of Conscience Rights for Marriage Commissioners

[] August 11, 2005--Liberal and conservative pundits have argued that while religious clerics should not be coerced to perform homosexual 'marriages', marriage commissioners, as state employees, should be required to uphold the state's moral code, rather than be given conscience and religious freedom protection if they object to performing homosexual wedding ceremonies.
