[The Living Church] October 7, 2005--The Archbishop of Canterbury has written to the Primate of Nigeria, Archbishop Peter Akinola, assuring him of the Church of England’s orthodoxy, pledging it has not, and will not, put the Anglican Communion at risk by altering its teaching on marriage.
As every good farmer knows, if you leave the gate to a field unfastened, the stock will push open the gate and stray from the field. The Church of England's poicy on civil partnerships has left the gate not just unfastened but wide open.
