[The Church of England Newspaper] November 11, 2005--The minister at the centre of controversy over the Southwark irregular ordinations which took place last week will lose his licence, after his Bishop sent an uncompromising letter to diocesan clergy explaining, ‘We do not do schism in the diocese of Southwark’. The Rev Richard Coekin, minister of Dundonald Church in Wimbledon, was warned earlier in a letter by the Bishop of Southwark that he would lose his licence if the ordinations of two of his curates took place. The men, Andy Fenton and Richard Perkins, were trained at Oak Hill college for ordination and then joined the ‘Co-Missions Initiative’ to lead church plants. They were ordained last Thursday, together with a South African minister who leads a joint Afrikaans/English congregation by South African Bishop, Martin Morrison, belonging to the Church of England in South Africa (CESA).
