Anglican Church: Homophobic And Sexist

http://purplepew.org/archives/2006/03/13/anglican-church-homophobic-and-sexist/

[The Purple Pew] March 14, 2006--It appears that the Church of England is opposed to one particular candidate nominated to become the next Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of California: Reverend Bonnie Perry.

It’s not just because Reverend Perry is a lesbian that they oppose. It’s because she’s a woman!

But maybe it’s really because she’s both; that is, a lesbian and a woman. After all, the Church isn’t speaking out in opposition to the other woman who has been nominated: Reverend Jane Gould. Maybe that’s because Reverend Gould is married to a man — unlike Reverend Perry who is married to a woman.

The nomination of Bonnie Perry for Bishop of California in violation of the ECUSA's moratorium on gay bishops and in contradiction to Biblical teaching on homosexuality and the 1998 Lambeth Conference's affirmation of that teaching from the perspective a leading gay website. So much for the supremacy and sufficiency of the Holy Scriptures. Gay aspirations come first!
