Church seeks exemption from EU organ directive

[The Church of England Newspaper] March 24, 2006--Organs could become the victims of an EU directive designed to control hazardous substances, in the case of organ pipes the lead content will fall foul of the directive. Church organs which are in the process of being rebuilt could be among the first casualties, including the instruments at Salisbury Cathedral, St Paul’s in London, Worcester Cathedral and St Albans Abbey.
