Conservative Episcopal Laymen Call for Church Trial of Top U.S. Bishops

[The Christian Post] April 16, 2006--A coalition of conservative lay Episcopalians is calling for a church trial of the denomination’s 35 bishops for installing a practicing homosexual bishop in New Hampshire and indirectly breaking apart the global Anglican Communion.

In light of what happened in the Richter trial, I can see bringing Gene Robinson and those who consecrated him to trial accomplishing the opposite of what this coalition is hoping to accomplish. It would also provide a field day for the liberal media and LGBT advocacy groups and might even generate public support for the LGBT cause in the Episcopal Church.
