[The Church of England Newspaper] April 14, 2006--Most people put butter on their hot-cross buns and eat them, but not an Essex bishop who instead has taken the rather more unusual option of blessing one. Taking part in the centenary celebration of a bizarre Easter tradition in an Essex pub, the Bishop of Bradwell, the Rt Revd Laurie Green, blessed a hot-cross bun before hanging it on a nail above the bar at the Bell pub in Horndon-on-the Hill, where he lives.
