[The Southern Cross] May 3, 2006--The Episcopal Church is comprised of a confederation of dioceses in the United States and several foreign countries. Our relationship is defined by a constitution. Scripture and The Book of Common Prayer determine our mission. Our constitution provides a technical definition of the Episcopal Church as “a constituent member of the Anglican Communion, … in communion with the See of Canterbury, upholding and propagating the historic Faith and Order as set forth in the Book of Common Prayer.”
