Ex-Governor Requests Change to His Seminary Status

[The Living Church] 12 May 2007--After being advised of the guidelines for ordination in the Diocese of New York, former New Jersey Gov. James E. McGreevey has decided to enter the General Theological Seminary next September as a full-time non-degree student rather than as a student in the Master of Divinity program.

The change to his enrollment status was initiated by Mr. McGreevey, according to the Very Rev. Ward B. Ewing, dean of the General Theological Seminary. The classes and course work are identical and the change does not rule out the possibility of his entering the discernment process at a later date.
