Anglican divisions lurk under the surface of conference

[USA Today] 16 Jul 2008--But traditionalist Rev. Kendall Harmon, canon theologian for the Diocese of South Carolina, says Lambeth will fail because the format allows "no meaningful way to resolve a family struggle."

Harmon likened Lambeth to a children's game: "Right now they're playing Let's Pretend. 'Let's walk together as if we really are together when we are not.' I'm not willing to pretend, given the stakes — the Gospel," says Harmon, who did not go with his bishop to Canterbury.
