[The Sun Chronicle] 15 Jul 2008--Anglican bishops from around the world will gather near London this week for the Lambeth Conference. For over a century, this meeting has been crucial in keeping the largest global Protestant denomination united.

Only problem is, a third of the bishops have refused to show up this year. The slight has not gone without notice. Intense media scrutiny has wondered whether the boycott signals a split in the Anglican Communion.

The Rev. Lance Giuffrida, pastor of Attleboro's All Saints Anglican Church, sees the schism as inevitable."I think it has already begun," he said. "It's a new reformation and we're seeing fractures that are necessary, though we didn't want it to happen this way."
