Canterbury Should Not Tolerate Gayism

[New Vision] Jul 10, 2008--With a meek and humbled heart, allow me to react to the response by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, that was published in The New Vision of July 4. I am not an authority in secular matters and, therefore, not the right person to react to the Archbishop’s views on the recently-concluded Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) that was held in Jerusalem.

Nevertheless, since I opted to be a religious person through baptism, confirmation and endeavouring to follow the religious dogma, I believe that I can comment on his lordship’s stance on gayism and homosexuality because these two vices have existed since the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, albeit their being practiced incognito in normal societies. Thus, I will, therefore, comment as a medical doctor, religious and presumably-sober human being.

Genesis: 1:26 urges man, to “go into the world, be fruitful and multiply.” Gays or homosexuals can neither be fruitful nor multiply.

It is well known that if any of us, including the consecrated Bishop Gene Robinson in the US, had gay parents, we would not have been born. While studying in Israel, I was privy to, which I believe the scars of Sodom and Gomorrah, terms which emanate or connote punishment for those practicing homosexuality at the time.

The silence of Canterbury, its slow reaction or condoning consecration of gay bishops in the Anglican Church or any other human society, creates a recipe for a similar Sodom and Gomorrah in the 21st Century.
