US gay cleric Gene Robinson 'received death threats' from England

[Telegraph] 12 Jul 2008--He is the most divisive figure in the Anglican world, whose appointment as bishop five years ago engulfed the Anglican communion in a bitter conflict that shows no signs of abating.

Gene Robinson - the openly gay cleric - is controversially being given a platform at St Mary’s Putney where revolutionaries plotted to change the English constitution during the civil war.

His sermon marks the launch of a radical agenda that the liberals hope will help to rewrite Anglican policy over the coming weeks as hundreds of bishops prepare to head to Canterbury to discuss resolving the current crisis.

For conservatives on the other hand, his presence in a pulpit only a few miles from Lambeth Palace - the residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury - represents how far the Church has slipped from its original, Biblical basis.

Gene Robinson revels in getting death threats if he indeed is actually receiving such threats and is not fabricating them for the media attention he receives. He loves to play the victim. Indeed the LGTB lobby will playing the victim to the hilt at the Lambeth Conference. Someone should tell the media about the Karpman Triangle and how victims can quickly switch roles to become the victimizer!

I know people think it is shocking to suggest that the weakling Robinson could ever extend his self-indulgence beyond diddling and drinking and venture into LYING, but there are death threats, and then there are CREDIBLE death threats. I see no evidence, in the form of going into hiding, keeping his movements a secret, or being surrounded by bodyguards, that his death threats are in any way real. He's the sort of person who would take an exasperated statement like "You'll get a rude awakening when you stand before God!" and turn THAT into a death threat.
