[Religious Intelligence] 15 Aug 2008--A Washington DC-based human rights group has said that a Saudi Arabian man cut out the tongue of his daughter and burned her to death following his discovery of her conversion from Islam to Christianity.

According to Gulf News, the girl heard about Jesus Christ through the internet, after which her father killed her “following a heated debate on religion”, the source indicated.

“Saudi Arabia has to treat Christians with the same respect that it wants Muslims to be treated in other countries”, began Jeff King, president of the human rights group who learned of the killing, International Christian Concern (ICC.) “It has to stop exporting hate and persecution against Christians in other countries.” The killer, who is currently in custody, works for the mutaween (Commission for promotion of virtue and prevention of vice), a branch of the government that enforces religious purity.

Saudi Arabian officials are reportedly using their large oil wealth to export the most intolerant version of Islam, known as “Wahhabism”, to other countries, including the United States.
