[Jackson Sun] 6 Sep 2008--Jeff Garrety of All Saints Anglican Church in Jackson said the latest Lambeth Conference demonstrated that the Anglican Communion has no way to discipline itself. All Saints Anglican Church was formed in 2004 after some members left St. Luke's Episcopal Church in disagreements on theological issues.

"That's a real failure," he said. "They have this colonial structure applied to a global communion."

The conference was successful in accomplishing the agenda of not talking about the moral and theological vacuum the church has become, Garrety said.

"The archbishop has never spoken out against those married homosexual priests," he said. "Silence on a subject usually means agreement. And the vast majority of the Anglican Communion believes the opposite of him."
