[OneNewsNow] 23 Sep 2008--A college student has been creating a media stir after her English professor assigned classmates to write an anti-Palin essay.

Janna Barber is a freshman at Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado. Barber says she was offended when her English professor Andrew Hallam explained the anti-Palin assignment to the class, but Hallam then told the class that he would be willing to give Republican students a chance to discuss the assignment.

"And he asked who in the class was a Republican. Five of us in the classroom raised our hands," Barber explains. "And when that happened, one of the kids in the class said 'F-you' to all of us, and the teacher just kind of laughed about it."

Following that exchange, Hallam allowed the students to debate the assignment. But according to Barber, he did not change the assignment until the media got wind of the story.
