[Church of Nigeria News] 22 Sep 2008--A road-map for the immediate implementation of the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) declaration and statement in the Church of Nigeria is likely to be announced on Friday when the fifth plenary session of the General Synod reconvenes.

GAFCON, described by the Primate, Archbishop Peter Akinola, as a “rescue mission” for a ‘Communion in deep trouble’ had declared the formation of a Primates Council and Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans, at the meeting in Jerusalem.

At the General Synod of the Church of Nigeria, a working group was assigned the responsibility to recommend the modus operandi for the immediate implementation of the GAFCON Jerusalem declaration.

Archbishop Benjamin Kwashi, Chairman of the group, gave a glimpse into some recommendations for consideration.
