AMiA Leader Will Embrace New North American Anglican Province

[VirtueOnline] 3 Oct 2008--The Anglican Mission joins with our Common Cause Partners in celebrating the exciting developments emerging during and after the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) held in Jerusalem in June 2008.

The movement toward establishing a new North American Province continues to gain momentum, and we now believe that it is possible that we could actually see this reality unfold over the next several months.

Strong support for this new province has been voiced not only by the Anglican Mission's Council of Bishops and Network Leaders, but by quite a number of our lay and ordained leaders during special gatherings recently held in Atlanta and in Pawleys Island.

With this prospect of a new province for North America now before us, questions naturally arise as to what the creation of such a province will mean for the Anglican Mission.
