Anglicans seeking donation for field

Micki Mott, a member of Anglican Holy Trinity Church, and wife of Win, Anglican bishop of Silver City and Deming Anglican congregations, has spent the past three months in Uganda, training in nutrition at local schools and communities in conjunction with her teaching stay at the Nserester Orphanage in Masaka, Uganda.

The Nserester Orphanage shelters 800 children, the majority who are orphaned due to AIDS. Because of oil price speculation, the price of corn, the mainstay of the community, has doubled, and the children, who are receiving only half of their regular diet, are going hungry.

Mott unhappily reports that the orphans are overly fatigued, falling asleep at their studies, and no longer have the energy to do the shared chores that keep the orphanage's 32-acre farm going.

A 6-acre parcel of land is available, close to Nserester Orphanage, on a river, so that year-round irrigation for the entire farm would be possible, and could alleviate this shortage of food. This plot of land is for sale for $900
