Autopsy on Celina Cass inconclusive, officials say

Medical examiners who performed an autopsy today on the body of Celina Cass have yet to determine how the 11-year-old girl died, authorities said this evening.

“The cause and manner are still pending,” Jane E. Young, New Hampshire’s senior assistant Attorney General said at a news conference tonight.

Examiners are awaiting “toxicology results and further investigation,” she said.

Investigators had concluded Celina’s death was suspicious after seeing the condition of the body, which was recovered yesterday afternoon from a dam on the Connecticut River, just a quarter-mile from her family’s home.

The only detail not mentioned in these two stories is that the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office is investigating Celina's death as suspicious based upon visual observation of her body both in and out of the water. I will post further details as soon as they are available. Please pray for Celina's family and the people of West Stewartstown in particular the children. Celina's mysterious disappearance, followed by the discovery of her dead body in the Connecticut River, has been a very traumatic experience for this small north New Hampshire community.
