[The Living Church] 16 Mar 2007--Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori has declared “null and void” the election of the Very Rev. Mark Lawrence as Bishop of South Carolina. The diocese received consent from more than the required 56 standing committees by the March 12 deadline, but a number of ballots were invalidated because they lacked additional documentation mandated by the 75th General Convention last June.

Open war has been declared on orthodox Episcopalians. The radicals in The Episcopal Church have seen their strategy to block the confirmation of orthodox bishops succeed. The Civil War had Fort Sumpter. The invalidation of Mark Lawrence's election by Mrs. Jefferts Schori is orthodox Episcopalians' Fort Sumpter - a decisive moment in the history of The Episcopal Church and the struggle for Biblical orthodoxy and the apostolic faith in that body.
