Whither Anglican communion?

[Tanzania Standard Newspapers] 3 Mar 2007--When the Anglican church broke off from Rome on the issue of the marriage of priests, little did they know that the issue will come to haunt them four and a half centuries later. The spectre of same-sex marriage in the general population was not an issue then, but it is an issue now for male and female clerics.

Tony Naleo did not do his homework in regards to why the English Monarch Henry VIII restored the ancient independence of the Church of England from the Church of Rome in the 16th century. The Bishop of Rome, threatened by the Holy Roman Emperor, the uncle of Henry's wife, Catherine of Arragorn, with the prospect of invasion of the Papal States and the Vatican, refused to grant him a divorce from Catherine whom had failed to produce a male heir to the English throne.
