[Stand Firm] 2 April 2007--First – let’s be honest here. This analogy of Great Britain imposing its will on the USA to what is happening in the Anglican Communion is totally off base. If the Anglican Communion were seeking to discipline the Southern Baptists or the United Methodist, then they’d have a point. Furthermore, the Anglican world is not seeking to impose its will on The Episcopal Church, it is trying desperately to give The Episcopal Church an opportunity to remain Anglican.

The liberal and revisionist bishops of The Episcopal Church have decided to wrap themselves in the flag. They like to see themselves as the leaders of the patriot forces in a new American war for independence. However, they are not rebelling against a foreign power. They are rebelling against God! In Genesis we read the story of man's fall. At the heart of that story is that the serpent persuaded the first man and woman to question God's word and break faith with God. What are the Episcopal Church's liberal and revisionist bishops doing today? The same thing. Question God's word and break faith with God. Rebels they may be but not the patriot leaders of a new American revolution. No, they are rebels just like the rest of sinful humanity that rejects God's righteous rule and seeks to go its own way.
