The sexual ethics of the Clergy Consultation

[Anglican Mainstream] 4 Dec 2007--According to Ruth Gledhill, ‘The Clergy Consultation, which has between 250 and 450 members at any one time, was set up in 1976 by three Anglican priests, Malcolm Johnson, Peter Ellers and Douglas Rhymes. Changing Attitude has an interesting paper setting out a theology of sexual ethics around which members of the consultation work today.’ Perhaps my readers would be interested in actually reading what is proposed in this important document, the only one of its type on Changing Attitude’s website. From ‘Sexual Ethics: A Report of the Lesbian and Gay Clergy Consultation Working Group’, ed. Andrew Henderson, Changing Attitude, 2004. Or read the report in its entirety: it is not boring, I promise!
