[Church of Nigeria News] 10 May 2008--The Church of Nigeria Missionary Society (CNMS), the missions arm of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has recently commissioned 16 missionaries and sent 13 of them into different mission fields within the country now.
Speaking in Ibadan at the commissioning ceremony held at the Chapel of the Pentecost in Ibadan North Diocese, the Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Segun Okubadejo, PhD who presided over the service on behalf of the Chairman of the CNMS board, Rt. Rev. ‘Ken Okeke, charged the mission partners (MPs) to go into the ripened harvest and bring souls into the kingdom of God and of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Speaking further, Bishop Okubadejo reminded them that the discharge of the duties of kingdom multiplication is not one to be done with personal comfort in mind. To him, it behooves on them to do all that is required of them to reach perishing souls for Christ. He thus charged them to GO to every nook and cranny – the ends of the earth to search for and rescue souls in the power of the Lord from the hands of the devil, from the powers of darkness and consequently sin, into the waiting arms of He who died for sin, and is risen and rules for ever.
The Bishop further reminded them of the promise of the Lord to be with His servants always and encouraged them to be courageous, faithful and focused on the task at hand as the Lord will always protect and care for them.
