[Lodi News-Sentinel] 3 May 2008--A new Anglican church headed by conservative Bishop John-David Schofield will soon be formed in Lodi.

The church will be affiliated with former Episcopal churches in the San Joaquin Diocese that left the American Episcopal Church and joined up with the more conservative Southern Cone based in Argentina. Episcopal Church USA serves under the Anglican Church, based in England.

Schofield has appointed Deacon Roger Riggsby as priest of the new Lodi church, to be called St. Anselm of Canterbury Anglican Church. Riggsby doesn't know when the church will start up because he hasn't found a location to worship. He said he has talked to pastors at a few churches who said they are willing to let St. Anselm of Canterbury use their buildings.

An organizational meeting is scheduled for June 8 in Manteca.
