[OneNewsNow] 24 Sep 2008--An economic policy expert says Barack Obama's claim that John McCain would gamble with senior citizens' Social Security is "an ugly campaign attack."
Carrie Lukas, vice president for policy and economics at the Independent Women's Forum (IWF), believes Obama is fear-mongering.
"I hate to assign motives to someone, but this is a tried-and-true tactic that Democrats have used in the past to try to scare, particularly, senior citizens into thinking that a candidate who supports reform of Social Security is threatening Social Security -- and frankly, it's just incredibly dishonest," Lukas contends. "In particular, on something that is this important, I really hope that the media gets out there and talks about this as a real[ly] disappointing and disingenuous thing to do."
