[Religious Intelligence] 13 Feb 2009--The controversial Dutch MP Geert Wilders has been banned from visiting Britain. Although he said he would still travel to London, he was refused entry on arrival.
The decision by the British Government was due to his anti-Muslim views, and in particular the film Fitna, which he was planning to show in the upper house of Parliament, the House of Lords. Britain ruled that his presence in the UK was a threat to public order. The British Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, said that the MP’s views were unacceptable, although he admitted he had not viewed Fitna himself.
