Arresting the decline


The Church of England should take note that although some churches are growing, a number are sadly in decline. Clergy and laity have been leaving for Rome, whilst others are linking up with nonconformist Churches, and tragically, many former good Church people are going nowhere at all. This is not merely due to the Ordination of women to the Priesthood, but because of the general liberalisation of the Church of England as a whole. The Church cannot afford to haemorrhage any further. It is essential that proper and adequate provision enshrined in law is made to enable people to stay.
