Carp churches switch to solar
Three Carp-area churches have seen the light, and it's solar powered.
Huntley Anglican Parish, representing the congregations of St. James the Apostle Church, Christ Church and St. John's Church, flipped the switch on Sept. 9, becoming the first parish in Ottawa to use solar power.
The parish recently installed 40 solar panels on the roof of the parish hall connected to St. James Church on 3774 Carp Rd.
So far, the panels have generated 426 kilowatt hours of electricity, enough to power the church on a daily basis. To read more, click here.
