Families in China struggling less than American counterparts to put food on table: Gallup survey

Families in China are struggling less than their American counterparts to put food on the table, according to new survey released Wednesday.

While the number of Americans who don't have enough money to buy food rose from 9% in 2008 to 19% in 2011, the number of Chinese in the same boat dropped to 6% from 16%, the Gallup survey shows.

The study also found that 11% of Americans have struggled to afford adequate housing in the past 12 months, up 5% from 2008. To read more, click here.
