Speak a Common Language

Make your church website friendly to the unchurched or those who might be unfamiliar with “Christianese.” Make sure it’s written in clear, simple English. If you must use a word that’s uncommon outside of church walls, make sure you define it. Similarly, make sure any church staff bios present the staff as “real” people (include hobbies and interests, not just spirituality). Make sure the writing style accurately reflects the culture and atmosphere of your church.
