City Orders Church to End Music Camp


Court to decide in April if zoning laws were violated

In July, the city of Auburn, New York, ordered a church to cease using property for a music camp, stating that this activity is commercial and therefore a zoning violation. Last week, a judge reviewed a case challenging this and set a court date in April, according to The Citizen.

Zoning cases are often among the top five reasons churches go to court. Churches should be aware of how zoning laws apply to churches. Keep reading
