Today May 10th is the 200th birthday of Bishop J. C. Ryle who stood firm for the gospel in his day and whose writings have influenced generations of evangelicals since. Lee Gatiss, director of Church Society, an organization that J. C. Ryle helped to found, has announced the latest in Church Society's range of new books by and about J.C. Ryle. Tim Challies has a review of Prepared to Stand Alone,Ian Murray's biography of J.C. Ryle on his blog. Ben Rogers also reviews Murray's book on the Gospel Coalition website.
