How to Kill a Church

Want to fatten a church for slaughter? The steps are below.

This is a true story. Read More
I have noticed that progressive Christianity and liberal theology having been making inroads among the members of the congregation of one of the largest and fastest growing evangelical churches in my community. This can be attributed in part to the influence of Andy Stanley who has made a number of controversial statements about the Bible, the Old Testament, and the Ten Commandments. These statements have proven easy to misinterpret and misunderstand. While Stanley has sought to clarify these statements, needlessly to say in making them he has already done damage that is difficult to repair. The writings, podcasts, and public lectures of Rob Bell are also popular with evangelicals. Attitudes toward same sex relationships and same sex marriage are also changing and these shifting attitudes are accompanied by views commonly associated with progressive Christianity and liberal theology. As the Ligonier Ministries - LifeWay Research survey of  the state of American theology, conducted in 2018,  showed, a growing number of self-identified evangelicals are not biblically orthodox in their beliefs.
