All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.
Today is the feast day of blessed Patrick, the apostle to the Irish people and the patron saint of Ireland. As a youth Patrick was kidnapped by Irish sea raiders and carried off to Ireland. Patrick was a slave in Ireland for several years until by the grace of God he was able to escape to freedom. Later in life Patrick was led by God to return to Ireland and to preach the gospel to the Irish people. Patrick was not the first missionary to the Irish but through God’s grace his mission would win many converts to the Christian faith.
The Scripture reading for this Wednesday evening is Luke 19: 1-10 Jesus and Zacchaeus
