72 charged in child sexual-abuse probe

"Three indictments and a criminal complaint unsealed Wednesday in the largest-ever online investigation charge 72 people in an international criminal network involving the sexual abuse of children and the creation and worldwide dissemination of graphic images and videos of child sexual abuse, federal officials said.

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said a two-year federal investigation called “Operation Delego” targeted more than 500 persons worldwide in a massive conspiracy known as “Dreamboard” — a private members-only, online bulletin board created and operated to promote pedophilia and encourage the sexual abuse of young children.

To date, 52 of the 72 charged have been arrested in the United States and abroad." To read more, click here.
