PEARUSA announces Open Forum

Recent communiqués from Archbishop Onesphore Rwaje and the House of Bishops of Province de L’Eglise Anglicane au Rwanda (PEAR) have defined positive moves that strengthen and expand Gospel mission in North America and establish a summer timeline for decisions by clergy and churches canonically resident in Rwanda.

A Missionary District of the Anglican Church of Rwanda has been established, and by summer’s end, this will be “the only way to be canonically resident in PEAR while serving the people of North America.”

Opportunities are already available for registering intention to remain in PEARUSA or for seeking letters dimissory to other Anglican jurisdictions.

August 31, 2012 is the final decision deadline for former Anglican Mission churches and clergy.

In response to these initiatives, Archbishop Rwaje, the House of Bishops of Rwanda, and the PEARUSA Steering Team will host An Open Forum for Celebration, Vision, Decision, and Collaboration,  on June 11‐13, 2012, for all involved and interested clergy and laity.

Our objectives:

--To celebrate the work of the Lord in PEAR and PEARUSA in worship and prayer

--To be encouraged by Archbishop Rwaje as the Missionary District is launched

--To share the dream of PEARUSA – as a Missionary District of Rwanda, as a partner in the Global South, as a sub-jurisdiction within the ACNA, as an expression of classical Anglicanism, as a church‐planting vanguard within biblical, united, mission‐driven Anglicanism in North America, and as missionary district committed to effectively training and supporting next‐generation church planters and pastors

--To answer questions on every level – vision, purpose, process, structure, strategy

--To commission preparative teams for the Inaugural General Assembly

--To facilitate the decision‐making process for clergy and churches

Mark your calendars and join Archbishop Onesphore Rwaje, bishops from PEAR, and the PEARUSA Steering Team.

June 11, 4:00 p.m. – June 13, 12:00 p.m.

Note: this replaces the planned gathering for May 1‐3.

A detailed registration brochure with specifics about the forum will distributed soon and will also be available on or before April 30 at www.pearusa.org
