The size of a home group changes and fluctuates over time. Some groups experience rapid growth and double in size, while others dwindle to a faithful few. As the number of people meeting differs, leaders need to adapt different methods of running a home group. It’s always nice to give every member a chance to share a prayer point or two, but this will take a lot more time in a large group. Smaller groups often have longer and more uncomfortable pauses. It is more difficult to engage every member in discussion in a big group.
