On Saturday evening
(December 5, 2020) we continue our observance of the Advent Season with Evening
Prayer. The order of service is taken from the Anglican Church of Canada’s The
Book of Alternative Services (1985) and was chosen for its brevity,
simplicity, and adaptability to online use.
The Scripture reading for Saturday evening’s service is Matthew 24: 36-44
The title of the homily for Saturday evening’s service is “Keep Watch! Be
Ready!” These were Jesus’ instructions to the twelve disciples. They are
his instructions to us.
