Beginning with this Wednesday evening’s service of Evening Prayer the book, chapter, and verses and a brief description of the reading will precede the reading. The reading will be followed by silence and a short responsory. This responsory is taken from The Daily Offices of A Prayer Book for Australia (1995). The versicles and responses that precede the Grace at the conclusion of the service were also taken from the same source.
The dismissal song, "God Sends Us Forth," was written by Tony Alonso chiefly for use at the conclusion of any eucharist celebration. It may be performed as an expanded choral arrangement or simple congregational hymn. It is versatile enough to use as a dismissal or mission sending song at any service of the Word.
