Christian Nationalists, if they have read the story of Israel in the Bible, have not absorbed the lessons from the biblical account of that people. They repeatedly disobeyed God. While they may have outwardly conformed to the rules and regulations of their religion, they inwardly were far from God. True obedience to God springs from a vital faith. Faith cannot be legislated, only the outward form of religion.
