All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.
The Acts of the Apostles is the sequel to the Gospel of Luke. While it is separated from Luke’s Gospel in the New Testament, it forms a single narrative with Luke’s Gospel. It describes the events that followed the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. The Revised Common Lectionary used in a number of churches and denominations include passages from Acts among the Sunday readings during the season of Easter. The Scripture reading for this Saturday is Acts 5:27-32 Peter and the Apostles Are Brought Again Before the High Council.
The homily is titled “Our Principal Task.”
