When one looks at the larger picture, Trump has done a great deal of damage to the cause of the gospel, enough to view him as an anti-Christ like figure, appealing as he does to the worst in human nature and undermining the message and teaching of Christ.

From a biblical perspective perpetuating and promoting a narrative which is untrue is bearing false witness against one's neighbor. Jesus told his critics that spreading lies about him showed that they were children of the devil since the devil was the father of lies. They were imitating the devil as children imitate their father. This observation is applicable to anyone who is constantly distorting the truth and spreading lies. They are acting like the devil.
