[Stand Firm] 20 Sep 2007--Edmond Browning was elected Presiding Bishop in 1985 and in his first speech declared his views concerning an inclusive policy toward homosexuality. Seven bishops, all personal friends, asked to confer with him and told him that, whereas they respect his conscientious views as expressed in the minority group at Denver, if he attempted to use his office to further the homosexual agenda he would tear the fabric of the church.
