[California Catholic Daily] 3 Jan 2008--The bishop of the formerly Episcopal and now Anglican Diocese of San Joaquin is a strong-willed, though jovial man who loves opera and throwing dinner parties, the Los Angeles Times reports.

But Bishop John-David Schofield, 69, is more than that, said the Dec. 24 Times -- as a man who stands on what he considers biblical orthodoxy, Schofield more than 20 years ago “received permission from his bishop to spend time at a Roman Catholic monastery, where he eventually took vows as an external member of the order.”
