Archbishop of Canterbury's Correspondence on Homosexuality Reveals Deep Conflict

[Virtue Online] 8 Aug 2008--An exchange of letters, between Dr. Rowan Williams, when he was Archbishop of Wales, and Deborah Pitt, a psychiatrist and evangelical Christian living in his former archdiocese, written in the autumn of 2000 and 2001, reveals a deeply conflicted Primate with his personal views clashing directly with the broader Anglican Communion over homosexuality.

The letters were sent simultaneously to Ruth Gledhill, Religion Correspondent for the London Times, and to one other journalist with a national daily newspaper. They arrived in London on the first day of the Lambeth Conference when both journalists were in Canterbury and were unaware they had received the letters in their daily mail. (They were not e-mailed).
