Defining the Evangelical

[sydneyanglicans.net] 13 Aug 2008--They all start with “evangel” for they are all about the gospel. “Evangel” is the anglicised version of the Greek word for gospel. These different English words are just different grammatical forms of the word gospel.

Evangelise is a verb. It means to preach the gospel. He evangelised (preached the gospel to) the crowd

Not a bad primer, but the author too quickly associates High Church with Anglo-Catholic. There were many High Churchmen who abhorred the Oxford Movement and what it was doing to the Church.
