Company Looks to Add .Sex, .Porn, and .Adult Domains to Internet


The company behind the controversial .xxx Internet domain has filed applications to add .sex, .porn and .adult to its generic top-level domains.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), a nonprofit organization that coordinates the Internet's unique identifiers, held a press conference in London, England on Wednesday to release a list of generic top-level domains (TLD) that organizations around the world have applied for.

Included in that list are ICM Registry's pornography-themed domains, which are much like the .xxx domain the company became the registry operator for in 2011. Read more
